Charles Thomson Letter, . 1823

Charles Thomson (1729-1824) emigrated from Ireland as a child and became prominent in Pennsylvania politics, serving as secretary of the Continental Congress for 15 years. The collection is a letter, 17 September 1823, to Thomson from William Mitchell of Bertie County, N.C., a relative who had just emigrated from Ireland, asking for advice and aid.
